Kids Got Talent Season 5 a smashing success 

Thanks to amazing community support and a remarkable team of volunteers, the fifth annual Kids Got Talent event raised a whopping $85,000 toward the Childen’s Safety Village.
The event on Sunday April 21 drew 500 people to The Empire Theatre to watch 35 local youth in 20 acts compete for the grand prize.

Willow Foley won the Grand Prize for her vocal performance of an original song titled “I’m Not Picky.”
Quinte Ballet School’s performance to “Pie Jesu” won for top performance in the Age 4-11 category; Mikaela Shea for her singing and guitar mash-up performance won in the Age 12-14 category; and Quinte Ballet School for their performance of “Your Song” won in the 15-17 category.
Three Rising Star awards were presented for the first time this year: Lizzy Black in 4-11 for her vocal performance to “Part of Your World; Jaxson Porter in 12-14 for his vocal and ukulele performance of “Rip Tide;” and: Aliah Lockwood in 15-17 for her vocal performance to “Maybe This Time.”

Jackson Porter also won the People’s Choice Award voted on by members of the audience.
