Internet Safety A Series of programs.

For grades K-1 or ages 5-6

We currently offer a basic internet safety program for children in Kindergarten and Grade 1, exploring basic fundamental internet safety issues and challenges. 

For older kids we offer virtual programs that build on each other and can also be offered independently for the appropriate age range. Through these programs, children will explore different areas of internet safety including security, cyberbullying, and online reputations.

Current Programs

Internet Safety for Grades K-3: Learning with Ollie the Otter

For grades K-2, or ages 5-7

This program is an introduction to internet safety for younger children. Topics explored include how to define the “Internet”, what online friendships can look like, how to stay safe while talking to others online, and how to balance online and offline time. There are activities to explore what being online means and how to do it safely and with the help of trusted adults.

The Digital Superheroes present… Internet Safety for Grades 3-4

For grades 3-4, or ages 8-10

What does it mean to be online? How do you balance online life with offline life? This program explores the positives of being online and how the Internet can help us. It also provides an overview of some of the main dangers of the Internet, including cyberbullying, online predators, scams and phishing, online reputations, and personal health.

Internet Safety for Grades 5-8… Learning With People Like You

For grades 5-8, or ages 10-13

This program explores the positives of being online and how the Internet can help us. It also provides an overview of some of the main dangers of the Internet, including cyberbullying, online predators, scams and phishing, online reputations, and personal health. Students are given opportunities to think critically about how to online life might impact their health and their understanding of the world.

Real Life Stuff Internet Safety for Grades 9-12

For grades 9-12, or ages 13-18

This is the final installment of our Internet safety series. This program provides in-depth information appropriate for older students. It explores several aspects of internet safety, including online use and reputation, digital tracking, scams and phishing, digital literacy, cyberbullying, and online predators. Students are given opportunities to apply their real-life experience of being online to different issues to think critically about how to make safe choices.
